Pig belly originates from the underside, located behind the shoulders. It is a very fatty area that contains the meat that becomes Pork Belly, a popular cut in many cuisines. The skin from the belly is often used to make bacon, but the rest of it can be cooked low and slow to be eaten alone, or in soups and pasta dishes.
